A review of the Chrysolina species – subgenus Stichoptera Motschulsky, 1860 – in Switzerland, with notes on distribution, conservation and preimaginal stages (Coleoptera, Chrysomelidae)

The species of the subgenus Stichoptera occurring in Switzerland are revised, based on a combination literature data, old museum specimens and recent material. Four species, one with two subspecies, Chrysolina kuesteri (Helliesen, 1912), Ch. latecincta (Demaison, 1896), norica (Holdhaus, 1914), rossia (Illiger, 1802) sanguinolenta (Linnaeus, 1758) confirmed to occur Switzerland, while gypsophilae (Küster, 1845) has be excluded from Swiss fauna due insufficient evidence. Errors unclarities older discussed. was found abundantly central Valais, allowing some notes its larval biology. Larvae alpine also illustrated, along habitat past present distribution records. Illustrations for all members subgenus, as well maps records, provided.
